Peer Support Program for Young Carers

Young carers play a significant role in offering support to their sibling and they deserve a community and support around them too. Recognising this need, CPSN and Little Dreamers have partnered to provide a Peer Support program specifically tailored for young carers within the CPSN community.

About the event

Young Carers in CPSN's community have the opportunity to connect with other Young Carers who have a range of different caring roles and responsibilities, in a safe and inclusive environment led by Little Dreamer's friendly staff.

The regular sessions include a fun ice breaker, and interactive games and activities to stimulate discussions focused on health and wellbeing, identity, and caring roles. The program is a great way to create friendships and learn from each other’s shared experiences in caring for someone living with cerebral palsy.

Program details:

  • Eligible for young carers in CPSN’s network aged between 5-25 years
  • 8 week program
  • Weekly one hour sessions
  • In-person or online
  • Small groups based on age
  • Facilitated by two Little Dreamers staff
  • Receive a resource pack in the mail
