About our client
Our client is a 17-year-old man with complex Cerebral Palsy, who is nonverbal, living with his family in Templestowe who loves to get out and about to engage in community-based activities.
About the Role
Our client requires high intensity supports to engage in activities independently of his family i.e., PEG feeding and hoist transfers when assisting him with personal care. His Occupational Therapist will be actively involved in training the people who support him.
Shift Requirements
Saturday: 8am - 10am (showering with hoist transfer) 2:1 with another SW.
Sunday: 5pm - 8pm approx. to assist with evening routine.Weekday (any day): 4pm - 8pm approx. (to assist with his after-school routine and assist him with learning to use an eye gaze device for communication).
About You
You must have a minimum of 12 months experience in PEG feeding, manual handling, and experience with non-verbal communication techniques and devices.You must have an open license and registered, roadworthy, reliable vehicle.
Compliance requirements
You will have or be willing to obtain the following documentation to work with CPSN:
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current CPR certificate
- 2 references from prior and/or current employers
Certificate Ill or IV in Disability Support desired but not essential!
