Enjoying lunch and making new friends and connections at the CPSN Family Fun Day at the Melbourne Zoo, Nov 2024
I loved the rare opportunity to relax and enjoy an event where my child and I could feel fully comfortable to be who we are and connect with others in the Community we have common ground with."

Amy Marks facilitates the OASIS youth program, run fortnighly with engaging activities for young people to build connections and learn new skills.
OASIS Youth Program
OASIS (Opportunities, Advocacy, Accessible, Social Inclusion and Support) is a highly engaging Youth support Mentorship program (for 14 - 25 year olds) with fortnightly online meet ups and occasional in person activities focused on Skill Building and Social Connection.
Our online programs predominantly support skill building and connection for young people with CP. Various activity content has included things such as presentations practicing public speaking, learning about disability pride and individual rights at school or university, working and playing together in a way that makes games accessible for everyone. Group members connect with mentors with Cerebral Palsy.
They are currently working on producing a zine.
Facitiated by CPSN's Customer Engagement Officer, Amy Marks (pictured, left) she says pinning what they do directly at OASIS down to a particular thing is difficult because it is determined by the wants and needs of young people with Cerebral Palsy – right now!
"We also support young people with building connections in their local communities and getting out there, " Amy says.
Amy (she/her) has Cerebral Palsy and has worked in the youth disability space for a decade. She’s into filmmaking, memes and coffee. You can find out more about Amy here

Our goal is to share knowledge, stories of Lived Experience and raise awareness of Cerebral Palsy within the Community, to ensure individuals with CP and their families have the same opportunities as everyone else throughout their life stages.
