In light of recent comments regarding the extremely high number of unregistered NDIS disability service providers in the sector made by Disability Minister Mark Butler MP, CPSN would like to reassure our Members, Clients, their families, and our Support Workers, that we are always committed to operating with transparency and accountability.

We are a fully Registered NDIS Provider with decades of experience delivering high-quality, safe, and trusted support services.

It was deeply concerning for us to learn that out of 260,000 NDIS-listed service providers, only 16,000 are registered, which raises serious concerns about service quality, industry Governance and safety standards for people with a disability.

Minister Butler addressed several of these risks found, including poor care and inadequate standards among unregistered providers. He noted that over time the NDIS registration system will require more ‘Robust market stewardship, including a well-calibrated system of provider registration."

No immediate action is required from CPSN, but this is something we will monitor closely and keep you updated of any changes to our day-to-day operations and services, should they impact you directly.

Always Compliant

CPSN is dedicated to serving you, our community members with pride. We are passionate about safeguarding the rights of people with Cerebral Palsy and their families and supporting people to live their lives on their terms.

We’d like to assure you that at CPSN, we meet all quality and safeguarding standards, having passed two separate audits last year, receiving much positive feedback from our auditors:

"Your systems and processes are in proportion to the service you offer."
"Clients feel engaged and have complete confidence in their SW's"
"CPSN is amazing…"

We always ensure our staff have relevant screening checks andtraining to safely deliver supports for their individual clients. We maintain consistent, safe work practices for all. Our main priority remains to continue our high-quality supports and services, focused on you, and supporting you with integrity.

So, for us, it’s business as usual. We’re also here to help you understand some of these sector issues.

At a glance, here's what you need to know:

What is NDIS Registration for a Disability service provider?

The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) requires all service providers to adhere to practice standards, rules and regulationsr egarding their governance and business practices. This includes ensuring client and worker safety, providing high quality training, and following clinical guidelines, and best practice frameworks so we are able to continue to support our community members.

This means, service providers such as ourselves are audited by an organisation that  ensures that we comply with the National Standard of Disability Services (NSDS). Once we pass these audits, the NDIS officially registers us a NDIS Provider. This accreditation lasts for approximately three years before we renew it again and undergo another audit.

You can identify a registered provider easily by looking for the registered provider logo like ours (image below). If you're unsure, you can always contact the providerdirectly via phone or email.

How do I make a complaint about an Unregistered Disability Service Provider?

  • Contact the Disability Services Commission 1800 677 342. They address complaints about Victorian disability services, whether they’re NDIS funded or not. They can give you tips on how to talk to the providers directly.

Of course, if you’re unsure about anything, you can always give us a call on (03) 9478 1001. We’re here to help.
