Jonathan Epstein

Jonathan has a strong background in economics and finance, having worked in the corporate, funds management and public sector for over 25 years. Jonathan has been the director and creator of several highly successful startup businesses with a proven track record of achievement and leadership.

Jonathan was a senior adviser to Federal Treasurer, Peter Costello AC providing advice on fiscal policy, macroeconomic and financial market conditions domestically and globally as well as key policy areas such as financial services (establishment of the Future Fund), infrastructure, energy, telecommunications and the financial and business regulation framework.

After leaving politics, Jonathan was a Senior Investment Analyst at the Future Fund – Australia’s sovereign fund. In that role he worked in the property and infrastructure investment teams on a number of large scale domestic and global transactions and acquisitions as well as a significant involvement in the overall fund’s portfolio construction and implementation of the Fund’s macro strategy.

Jonathan is currently a director of Flinders Lane Capital, a boutique funds management firm specialising in private market lending and venture finance in both domestic and international markets.

Jonathan is also the director of PolStrat Pty Ltd, an advisory firm, providing a comprehensive political advisory service backed by strong economic and financial expertise.

Prior to that, Jonathan established and co-founded ECG Advisory Solutions, a leading consulting firm specialising in government relations and corporate strategy. ECG Advisory Solutions built a strong client base of clients (top 100 ASX companies) across the industrial spectrum, including, banking, retail, property, mining, health, energy, and infrastructure – both domestic and global.

Jonathan also established and co-founded ECG Financial Pty Ltd a boutique advisor on mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, competition and regulatory issues which affect business in Australia. ECG Financial advised Australian and international companies which operated or were seeking to operate in Australia.

He also has had significant experience working at a federal government level in the Commonwealth Treasury and at a state government level within the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet and has served on the Board of not for profit organisations such as Crohns and Colitis Australia.
