Looking for a nurse? have you thought about hiring a support worker?

For individuals with disabilities, recruiting in-home help has often meant turning to expensive and impersonal nursing services. With the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), however, people can now handpick support workers who meet their specific needs. The Cerebral Palsy Support Network (CPSN) provides a personalized approach, empowering individuals to find the right match for their care.

Many individuals with disabilities feel that when recruiting in-home help, they must go with a nurse to meet their needs. However, this can be costly to get the support you deserve.

Often, it can feel impersonal having a stranger coming into the home to help with the most intimate tasks (dressing, showering, etc.). While many feel stuck in this traditional approach, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) now empowers individuals to hand pick support workers who can work alongside them.

Why recruit through The Cerebral Palsy Support Network (CPSN)?

As a NDIS service provider, one of the most common concerns we hear from participants is, "I want to feel comfortable with the person I work with." As the days of councils assigning workers to homes quickly became a thing of the past, CPSN wanted to ensure we offered a better alternative to new participants. We knew the key thing people wanted was "choice," and we made this the centerpiece of our Innovative Choices program.

What is the Innovative Choices Program?

Our innovative Choices program enables our participants to handpick their support workers. This means we let you meet the person you will be working with before commencing the work. We even allow our clients to recruit someone they know from their support network.

We also aim to ensure that the support worker hired will have the skills and training necessary for the participant's individual needs; we do this to ensure that, unlike other providers, our clients can feel safe and rely on the support they receive.

Customer Liaison Coordinators

Unlike other providers, who often leave the ongoing working conditions on the shoulders of the participant and the worker, CPSN provides our participants with an individual Customer Liaison Coordinator (CLC). Our CLCs will work one-on-one with you and your support worker as we endeavor to meet your needs throughout your time working together.

This includes increasing client satisfaction, upskilling support workers, and taking care of the time-consuming paperwork that comes with recruiting in-home care.

Matching skills with a cost-effective alternative

At CPSN, we offer disability training courses and the introduction of programs such as Safe Support and Shared Outcomes.

Safe Support is a collaborative initiative we created with WorkSafe Victoria, it aligns client choice and control along with safety. Along with prioritising the physical safety and wellbeing of the client, it strives to provide a communal approach between the support worker, client and family to create positive outcomes for everyone involved.

In addition, we work within the framework Shared Outcomes. Shared Outcomes was developed in response to feedback from our clients about how performance and feedback are managed and how we work together to achieve quality outcomes has been developed with a focus on ensuring we maintain the already fantastic working relationships with our clients.
