Transport by private vehcles or taxi is an essential part of life for some clients, particulary if they are not located close to public transport links.

Support to get you where you need to go
When transport support or funding is included in an NDIS plan, it aims to build confidence and capacity for independent travel, while also providing support when independent travel isn’t possible due to disability.
NDIS-funded transport costs may include:
- Taxi fares or other private transport options (e.g., a support worker driving a client to work, study, appointments, or community activities).
- Costs for travel training or familiarisation to help build confidence and skills for using public transport, with support worker assistance if needed.
Based on individual needs, there are typically three levels of transport funding available in an NDIS plan, each with a specific budget for eligible transport costs. For more details, find information on NDIS-funded transport here.
Transport supports may also be accessed through self-managed, privately funded, or court-appointed arrangements.
CPSN Clients on the Move
- David went for a weekend away with his Support Worker, Jake. They had a great time. David is already planning their next trip away together.
- Emily receives transport support from her Support Worker, Ashley to attend Drama classes, Community events and nights out.
- Michelle travels to public speaking engagements with the support of her Support Worker, Sally.
CPSN ensures all support workers providing transport are fully licensed, and that any vehicle used—client’s or worker’s—is insured and roadworthy.

I work with all different clients so I really tailor my approach to each individual and what they need and want to achieve, but always keep their goals in mind. Above all I prioritise social connection with each of my clients as this is so important."
