About our client
Our client is a vivacious young woman in her early 30s living with cerebral palsy. She is an ambulatory wheelchair user. She is a visual artist who runs her own small business; exhibiting her works in local spaces, and selling at markets as well as through her online store. She is physically active and very engaged in her local community. Also enjoys regular participation in a drama group, craft, going to cabaret shows and spending time with her family.
About the Role
The role is to support our client in all aspects of the business component of running and expanding her art business. The support worker will be required to assist both at home and in the community. Personal care assistance, transport in own vehicle, assistance with business admin including website management, processing, packing and posting online orders, assistance at markets and community events. No high intensity supports required.
Shift Requirements
2 sessions a week of 2 - 3 hours each, or 1 longer session on weekdays, whatever fits (flexible as to which day). In addition once or twice a month a 6 - 8 hour day time Saturday or Sunday shift will be available.
About You
The support worker will need good computer skills, confidence in managing and running a small business, an understanding of and interest in art. In addition personal care, ability to learn to use AAC (spelling page and communication device) and physically fit and reliable to assist with manual handling (helping the client with positioning and transfers - in addition to manual and electric wheelchairs, she uses a walking frame). You will need an open drivers license and reliable roadworthy car to transport our client around the community.
Compliance requirements
You will have or be willing to obtain the following documentation to work with CPSN:
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current CPR certificate
- 2 references from prior and/or current employers
- Valid driver’s license
Certificate Ill or IV in Disability Support desired but not essential!
